The California School of Podiatric Medicine (CSPM) at Samuel Merritt University was founded in 1914 as the California School of Chiropody. It later became the California College of Podiatric Medicine and in 2002 became CSPM at Samuel Merritt University. The school has played a vital role in shaping modern podiatric medicine and podiatric medical education. Landmark efforts at CCPM created the field of biomechanics three decades ago, significantly contributing to the establishment and growth of Sports Medicine as an important subspecialty.
Continuing to demonstrate excellence and leadership in podiatric medical education, CSPM offers numerous advantages to its students, including: state-of-the-art simulation training; early hands-on clinical training beginning in the second year; small, personalized class size, and a pioneering faculty in biomechanics, sports medicine and educational development.
CSPM’s relationship with CaFFE began in 1982 with the inception of FFE, CaFFE’s predecessor. Since then, FFE served to ensure the integrity of funds donated by alumni and friends of CSPM and we look forward to continuing that relationship with CaFFE.
